The NHS advises looking out for the following changes in moles:
- A mole that’s changed colour or has more than 2 colours
- A mole with uneven borders
- A mole that’s bleeding, itching, crusting or raised
- A mole changes shape or looks uneven
- A mole starts itching, crusting, flaking or bleeding
- A mole gets larger or more raised from the skin
All minor surgical procedures are conducted in our state of the art minor ops room. David Gateley, Consultant Plastic Surgeon will deliver this innovative care in a safe environment within a governance framework as stipulated by NHS England and in line with the CQC registration. All surgical wounds will be managed by our professional medical team.
If necessary, the specimen can be sent for histological examination (a specialist in microscopic identification of moles) and the appropriate referral made through Mr Gateley’s network of medical specialists.
